Sunday MTB XC ride: Devils PunchBowl, as usual!  Route will be via Thursley common and then a climb up to the cafe. Route back will be via Witley Common.  Approx 22 miles.  Mostly bridleways and other tracks, nothing too technical.  Pace will be soicial (this will be my first ride of the year!), so plenty of stops to re-group etc.  The weathers not looking too bad for Sunday, either.

 We will be going out on a ride Sunday morning to burn up the Christmas cals heading Peaslake way to explore some of the technical singletrack around Pitch Hill. Expect a mix of blue and red runs, with a stop at Peaslake stores for a coffee and a cheese straw, no doubt. Back around 12.30pm to 1.00pm with any luck. Weather forecast looking promising but no doubt there'll be lots of debris everywhere due to the winds.

 A shortish loop from Godalming Station heading over to Albury way and possible stop at Peaslake, though this may change. Mostly blue/red trails, some technically challenging. Bring usual gear plus coffee stop money. Hope to be back in Godalming by 12.30pm

 A whizz out Tilford/Thursley way heading up to the Punchbowl/Gibbet if time allows. Poss coffee stop somewhere so bring some change etc

 A spooky-themed ride to Thursley, Devil's Punchbowl and Gibbet Hill. See the murdered sailor's grave, the place where he was robbed and the Gibbet his murderers were hung from! Creep back through the woods of Frillinghurst and Hambledon to Godalming, returning around 12.30pm and 1.00pm. Bring coins for a brew at Punchbowl cafe, helmets and tools etc.

Sunday MTB XC ride up to the Devils Punch bowl. Route approx 25miles on a mix of trails & bridleways at a social pace, though the route does include some sustained climbing. Cafe stop included, so bring some money, along with the usual kit.

Nice easy pace, couple of good climbs on quiet roads....

Approx 23 mile loop  cross country, mixed terrain heading  out to the Borne Wood and back. The ride will take approx 3 and half hours. Make sure you bring a snack as there may not be cafe stop. Weather forecast is sunny ;O)

Will probably be a tour of the hills around Godalming, so long as I manage to recover  from last Sundays ride over to Peaslake!  There should be as many descents as there are ascents, but please don't count too hard

Planning a ride Sunday morning for anyone interested. Social pace heading to Bourne Wood to see filmset and back via Frensham and Thursley. Not too technical, poss coffee stop Tilford/Frensham. Bring usual tools, kit plus change for snack. Approx 25 miles, minimal climbing. Back around midday. Forecast good! Julie

 Ride will head out from TCC towards Devil's Punch Bowl, onto to  Frensham Ponds, Bourne Wood (check out the Dark Shadows film set) before returning to the cricket pavilion for a well earned burger!

Medium pace , a few climbs, around 25 miles mix of track terrain.

CANCELLED DUE TO INJURY

So the plan is to ride Tunnel Hill and Porridgepot Hill, with lots of lovely singletrack. This is an area some of you might not have ridden before and it is well worth the trip. The pace will be social ie that of the slowest rider, no one will be left behind. The plan will be to ride 2.5-3.5 hours depending on how everyone feels then a cafe stop at the canal centre. We'll have the option to go back out for another hour or so if anyone's up for it once refuelled. Everything will be rollable, we'll start of easy and depending on the group could find some more challenging stuff if so desired.

Meet point is the layby opposite Potters near the canal centre entrance, loads of free parking:

Nearest stations are Ash Vale (5-10mins ride up the canal) or Northcamp (5-10 mins away by road)

 

I plan to do a XC loop to Hindhead from Godalming taking in Greg's cheeky little berms enroute. Meet at 9 for a 9.15 prompt depature. Cafe stop at DPB for a bacon, egg and sausage door step special .

 

The pace will be casual no one will be left behind.

 

Route up to the Devils Punch Bowl via Thursley and then around the edge of Gibbet Hill, climbing up to the café for refreshments.  Route back depends on the time after the stop.  Route will be about 25miles so will take 4hrs as it will include a few climbs, so good prep for Wales!
