Regular Sunday morning MTB ride. A short, local route, approx. 18 miles, taking about 2-3 hrs at an easy pace. Route will be to the south of Godalming, mainly on bridleways and tracks, so nothing technical and not much in the way of climbing. Cafe stop at Winkworth.  We could extend the ride after the stop, if time allows and there's interest, but we'll see on the day.

Ride will be at steady pace and we will head over to Cranleigh for a social Costa Coffee stop in Stocklund Square and return to Milford Station.

Seasons Greetings fellow MTBers.

Following on from the excellent Club Xmas ride and curry at the weekend some of us thought it would be a nice idea to re-introduce the MTB pub socials. To kick things off again we plan to meet at the George Abbot pub (recently refurbed) in Guildford for a few beverages on the evening of Tuesday 21st December at 20:00.

For those of you thinking of cycling there are bike stands not too far away, for those of you travelling from further afield the pub is a few mins walk from the Station and there is a car park nearby.

Hopefully to see a fair few of you there.

 A friendly introductory ride to 'Road Cycling' at a gentle pace covering approx 40km done in 20km loops, so that if you get tired or have particular time constraints, then you can peel off at the appropriate point. We will stop along the route for a social coffee / tea and munchies.

Sunday XC MTB ride  - The plan for this Sunday is to do an 'easy' ride suitable for most levels and abilities.  The pace will be easy with plenty of opportunties to stop and re-group, so no-one will be left

behind!  The route will be around Milford, Witley, Hydons Heath (approx 16 miles 2-3hrs), mostly off-road on tracks and trials through the woods, with no big hills, just the odd short climb.  The plan is to stop at Winkworth for a cuppa, so bring some money, along with the usual drinks, spares etc for the ride. There's the possibility of extending the ride after the stop, where those who want too can coast back to Godalming down Brighton Hill and the rest can do an extra hilly bit round Hascombe.

Any questions then ask in the forum.

I'm orgainising a morning of maintenance on the trail known as 'Barry Knows Best' on Holmbury Hill in Peaslake which many of you will be aware had a load of money spent on a new ending towards the end of last year thanks to a successful grant application via Surrey Hills AONB.  The trail has now bedded in nicely and needs some maintenance and tweaking to keep it running niceley.

I already have some people lined up to help but need some more hands to help out.  If you are free to help this coming Sunday for 2-3hrs then can you please send me an email at hurtwoodtrails@googlemail.com and i'll then send you further joining instructions.

You are welcome to bring your bike and ride afterwards. We have some tools, you just need to be a willing volunteer and bring your own refreshments.
