I am entering this late season (October 16th) hilly time-trial and as it's local (Goodwood), you may want to as well. Organiser is Fraser Nurse, 16 Oakwood Close, Tangmere, P020 2WD.  Starts from 0800hrs. I have two spectator wristbands for the London-Surrey Cycle Classic event this Sunday on Box Hill. Does anyone want to join me for a ride out there (need to be there by about 9:30am) to watch the action? Riders are due to be on Box Hill somewhere between 10:40 and 11:20.

I've got a road bike on order via the cycle to work scheme (Allez elite), hopefully I'll get the voucher through and pick it up first week or two in August. Is there a beginners or easy/short ride that I'd be able to come along to planned anytime soon after that? (that said I am away a couple of weekends mid-late august!) I can manage several hours out on a mtb but obviously it's a different style of riding..

Did you know that there are local road-races specifically for the 64-69 year olds, 70+ year olds (and a few younger categories too) among us? The League of Veteran Racing Cyclists organises the races, and upcoming ones include 17th July at Cheriton, 26th July (yes, a Tuesday morning!!) at Newdigate, 7th August at Dunsfold (not the airfield, but local roads) and 21st August at Fareham. Each race costs only £12 to enter, and I'd like your company (I race with the 50-54 group).

 I'm writing to you on behalf of Spinal Research UK, a charity based in Guildford. We are holding a Spine Cycle from Guildford to Glasgow (around 550 miles) on the 13th - 18th August  and wondered whether any of your members or if you knew anyone who would be interested in taking part on our behalf. Just so you know a bit about us we are a charity dedicated to funding research for paralysis with hope to find a cure completely in the near future. 

Hi I'm an off-roader normally but considering doing the CTC sportive from Guildford this Sunday http://www.ctcchallengerides.co.uk/CTC_guildford_sportive.php with my husband. Problem is I don't have a road bike that is suitable! If anybody in the Club could lend me one, I'd be really grateful. Nothing fancy needed, just something to fit my 5ft 8" frame. I can normally ride anything that is medium frame size. Thanks in advance! I live in Godalming.

I've been really enjoying the Sunday rides - including the weather.  Great routes (from my point of view), very well led, and very sociable,  Perfect for my well-being.  Thank you to all concerned.

Gordon Croucher is organising an interesting sounding session for the morning of Saturday April 2nd...full details on the Calendar but do come along to Milford station if you want to give your body a taste of going faster as everyone should get a turn at going full-bore and of sitting in to recover. If you've been doing some training this year, you'll put a lot in but get a lot out of the morning. You know you want to!

I'll be riding this '10' from the Bull PH at Bentley on the A31 from 9am on Saturday morning. If anyone wants to do it as a 2-up with me, be there from 8:15ish in club kit. Couple of quid to enter needed, plus a rear light. A rider with a time of around 25 minutes would suit me. Rob
