CANCELLED Sunday 29th May XC

CANCELLED DUE TO INJURY

So the plan is to ride Tunnel Hill and Porridgepot Hill, with lots of lovely singletrack. This is an area some of you might not have ridden before and it is well worth the trip. The pace will be social ie that of the slowest rider, no one will be left behind. The plan will be to ride 2.5-3.5 hours depending on how everyone feels then a cafe stop at the canal centre. We'll have the option to go back out for another hour or so if anyone's up for it once refuelled. Everything will be rollable, we'll start of easy and depending on the group could find some more challenging stuff if so desired.

Meet point is the layby opposite Potters near the canal centre entrance, loads of free parking:

Sunday 17th April MTB ride

We'll be heading up to Winterfold, Pitch Hill, and Holmbury too. I will be cramming as much single track as possible in, in prep for wales. This will mean a LOT of climbing, if I'm feeling nice I might try and make some of them on tarmac or fireroad tracks but you never know. I'll be aiming this at 4 hours inclusive of the obligatory cheese straw, flapjack and cuppa stop at the usual mtbers haunt in peaslake but we could run over depending on the size and speed of the group. This will be a red graded ride, ideally minimal stopping to regroup and lots of technical and rooty singletrack, though no one will be left behind and everything will be rollable. I've been over there riding 7.5 of the last 24hours and the trails are running beautifully!

Please ensure your fitness and bikes are up to the job, bring normal tools, energy bars, helmet and appropriate clothing for the weather, let's hope it stays warm and sunny!

Meeting point is the Farley Heath car park, as pretty much everyone drives this should save us some climbing and give us an extra hour ride time over Bramley station start point:.

Weather is looking good for the weekend, so hope to see you all there.

Sunday MTB XC Ride

Sunday XC MTB ride  - The plan for this Sunday is to do an 'easy' ride suitable for most levels and abilities.  The pace will be easy with plenty of opportunities to stop and re-group, so no-one will be left behind!

The route will be around Milford, Witley, Hydons Heath (approx 16 miles 2.5-3hrs), mostly off-road on tracks and trails through the woods, with no big hills, just the odd short climb.  The plan is to stop at Winkworth for a cuppa, so bring some money, along with the usual drinks, spares etc for the ride.  It shouldn’t be too muddy, but expect to encounter some along the way!

There may be the possibility of extending the ride after the stop with an extra loop back to Godalming, but that depends on the time, conditions and weather.

As usual, any question then drop me an email.

Greg.

Sunday off road MTB ride, 13th March

Planning to head over to Tunnel Hill via bridleways, byways and fireroad round the ash ranges for some single track, probably a longer than average ride..

Rated it as a blue as I'm not planning any real killer climbs (just a few short and sharp ones), but there will be some technical single track and this will be a long ride (time & distance) so a good level of fitness and some stamina will be required! But all is not lost, there will be a good cafe stop around half way to recharge the batteries with hot drinks, flap jacks and even cooked brekkies available so bring your money! Ride time will depend on group size, mud level and how long we stop for to refuel, aiming for 5 hours so bring the normal spare tubes, energy bars and fluids. There will not be anyway to shortcut back to the meet point during the ride and we'll be a long way from the start point so please make sure you and your bikes are fully serviced and ready to go!

Meet point is car park opposite the harvester in Puttenham,

Sunday Off-road ride from Godalming Station

Update -

As it's quite wet and muddy, we'll ride over to Thursley/Hankley for a tour of the commons, coming back via singletrack on other side of A3.  Possibly a quick coffee stop at Frensham if time so bring a bit of loose change (won't stop if it's actually raining hard).  Not a very technical ride apart from the odd descent here and there but could be quite slippy in places.

Julie

(Depending on conditions, leisurely-paced ride around the area, route to be decided - see forum for details.)
