erm, well, 'no' actually:  I didn't. This Cicclisti Vecchi thing (I haven't quite worked out what it is) seems to be linked with VC Meudon; I think it might be their 'club brand' for racing. They gave me a real workout. I was well positioned with about 4 miles to go, having recovered from trying to get away with another chap (Sean Kilroy from the Glade CC in Essex), but a massive attack by the B (45-49 year olds) category winner as Crooksbury Road kicks sharply up following the slow left-hander exiting from Sands Road was the defining move of the race. Only one other chap had enough left in the tank to go with it. Then two more managed to tap off the front; what was left of the bunch nearly caught them on the line.

Anyone who rides or has ties

Anyone who rides or has ties with with VC Meudon, and is over 40 can become a member of "Ciclisti Vecchi"  I was offered membership but they only had small jerseys. There are no membership fees.

It was the steep little kick  up at the lake crossroads that got me with two laps to go.  I was sat on a wheel and when I looked up  there was a big gap. Six of us lost contact but when we eventally got working got the deficit back down to around twenty seconds.Last time I rode at Cutmill was about 1970 and I don't recall a climb on the circuit.
