Sunday MTB ride 28 February

Just to let you know I am planning to post a ride for this Sunday from Godalming Station 9am.  Not sure of route yet due to weather conditions but pace will be slowish, distance not too far and will hopefully avoid mud as much as possible.  Watch this space for further details....

Sunday Ride - Godalming

At this moment, I am still planning to lead the ride but there is a severe weather warning of a storm approaching for Sunday!  Bearing in mind the near hypothermia suffered by some riders on the last one I led in such conditions, there is a pretty good chance I won't turn up if it's absolutely atrocious.  But assuming it might not be, the ride will go ahead as follows:

The Details:
Meeting Place: Care for Health, Godalming

Timing: Meet 0900 for 0915 departure
Duration: 3 hours-ish
Difficulty: Mixture of Blue/Red
Ascent: One killer (Madgehole)
Tea Stop: Maybe Peaslake

Average Speed/Pace Style: Social Pace
Distance: Approx 20 miles to Winterfold and back (some singletrack with technical sections)
Route: tracks/lanes/Downslink/mud/some singletrack
Ride Organiser: Julie Rand
Hope you can make it.

Care for health???

How do I get to "care for health"?

I am interested in getting some dirt under the tyres, but have to take the train so would arrive at the train station near 9h... How long do I take to cycle there?

I will do my prayers this evening to St Peter.

Don't worry...

Care for Health is next door to the train station, so it's basically the same location as we normally start from!

outlook for tomorrow

I am keen to riding tomorrow, but it seems my prayers were uneffective...

If there forescast stays the same will you still go? I'm not a big fan of returning home with wet clothing so if it looks dodgy will have to miss out, again...

At the moment there is still

At the moment there is still a severe weather warning in place for the South East.  Will check rainfall radar and forecast in the morning and post here about 8am as to whether or not the ride is going ahead.

Due to forecast and current ground conditions, I have decided that the ride won't go ahead.  Sorry.  Hope to see you next time.  Enjoy the lie-in!
