Tunnel Hill Trolls Saturday MTB Session - 27th February (Mytchett) **SPECIAL RIDE**

ADVANCE WARNING:

OK, it's (nearly) that time of year again. As per the last 2 years we will be shown around some of the best stuff built and ridden by the Tunnel Hill Trolls. Jay will show us around again and I expect a similar ride to the last 2 years - It's too good to miss. If you have never been there before make a bif effort to come along. This year more of the Godalming Thursday night summer group will be joining us (Nigel etc.) so should be a good group of us plus any Trolls that come along.

See-saws, bomb-holes, skinnies, ladders, switchbacks, berms you name it, they got it. Everything is optional (you can even go around the bomb holes if you want). Watch in awe as people ride stuff that scares the 'pants' off you! 'Pants way down' and 'Pants Down' (big Pants theme going on there as much of the trails are developed by the Troll 'Stripe Sgt Pants' of the British Army, one of the guys behind the British Army Enduro series, 'Are you tough enough').

The pace will be fairly easy (Tuesday night trolls pace) so you will need a basic level of fitness. Your technical skills also need only be basic but importantly a bit of confidence and a bike in top nick would be a good idea (no lid, no ride). It's only about 15 mins drive from Godalming.

The Details:
Meeting Place: Basingstoke Canal Visitors Centre Car Park, Canal Centre, Mytchett Place Road, Mytchett, Camberley, GU16 6DD‎
Timing: Meet 0900 for 0915 departure
Duration: 3 hours
Difficulty: Mixture of Blue/Red with optional Black
Ascent: Nothing long, plenty of short and sharp climbs
Tea Stop: Proper cafe at the end
Average Speed/Pace Style: Social Pace
Distance: Approx 17 miles (mostly singletrack with technical sections)
Route: 95% singletrack
Ride Organiser: Mark Reynolds (07765 402958) and Jay.

Hope you can make it.

 Unfortunately I'm oncall

Unfortunately I'm oncall this weekend so can't make it, but I've ridden with the trolls before on tues nights and they know some very good trails and keep quite a good pace so well worth a go, I must try and make some of their rides again as the weather improves!

what the hell, I'm going out with them tonight if anyone wants to tag along, they're riding tunnel hill so it's pretty local and I missed this sunday's ride and can't make the super saturday afterall!

go on then

I attended this special abilities ride last year and I recommend it to you all - although I will hand responsibility for towing a certain member (cough Mark) up some of the 'inclined' sections to somebody else this time...

Unfortunately I don't think I will make it. I seem to have come down with some sort of virus today and it has really knocked me out. Unless I feel alot better in the morning it looks like I will have to wait another year!

You missed out folks! That

You missed out folks! That was a good ride on Saturday. Muddy, yes and obviously a bit rainy too, but there's some quality trails in them woods ;o)

Thanks again to Jay and the the rest of the Trolls for leading the (massive) group around.

You missed out folks!!!

Yep, a good ride despite the weather!  We seemed to do a bit more singletrack than on previous rides, which was good.  A good turn-out as well, 25 riders in the end but not all from VCGH!

I've mentioned to Jay that we will reciprocate the favour and lead a ride for the Trolls.  Not sure when, may be in the summer, but we'll have to come-up with a route and leader etc.
