I'd like to go, but want to

I'd like to go, but want to check the forecast as it won't be much fun if it's wet the whole day. Also basing this on finding someone to share the journey with to split fuel costs, have a diesel and twin bike rack so hopefully won't be a problem!

sounds like a plan

Sounds good - is that straight through with no stop for breakie?  There's only one route at Cwmcarn, isn't there?  if so, would we do it once and stop for lunch and then have another crack at it?

Andrew - It might be worth checking with Ian to see if he is interested in coming along as he's no car at the moment.

I would prefer to leave

I would prefer to leave early, maybe 7am, and then have a quick breakfast stop en-route. I would be happy to share a lift in someone's comfy car, otherwise I will drive down in the van.

Andrew stop whingeing about a little rain....that's what you've got your fluorescent yellow waterproof for!

Sounds good

Hi Gents,

Been neglecting the forum lately to brush up on my maths using the GCSE Bitesize website. The questions are proving challenging after a long day at work...

On a serious note, I would be up for a trip to Wales and sharing a lift seems I have yet to replace the chav mobile. I don't think the weather forecast really matters, its February and we are going to wales so rain is likely and will make the experience more rewarding...

So if anybody has room and wants to split fuel costs count me in.

Cheers

Ian

well I've just got in from an hour and a half of mud, rain and snow with the tunnel hill trolls so weather isn't a factor :o)

depending on who wants to share with who (Neil or Ian) or same as last time happy to car share, and dirty breakfast certainly helps make it round more easily!

Andrew.

count me in

- Defo coming (subject to getting a lift)

- Andrew - happy to share the journey (and not steal your Haribo this time)

- Don't think I have been to cwmcarn so it would be good to ride some new trails.

Afan is a long way to go for a day out and I am sure a few peeps would be up for a weekend visit once the weather starts to improve (May time).

I'm a definite as well and would prefer cwmcarn as I've not been there before.

Steve - can you put up with my conversation for another journey? Your car is probably more comfy than my van but I can drive if you want.

I agree with Ian's idea for a weekend to Afan, maybe even in April?

I can't remember where we stopped last time but it ticked all the right boxes. Unfortunately my memory for service stations is about as good as it is for our regular Sunday cycle routes....so not that great.

ok, so similar to last time I propose we meet at Membury services between j14 & 15 of M4

Google tells me it's 53 miles from guildford and about 1hr 10mins so leaving at 7 = brekky @ 8.15-8.30?

How did we all find it? Well

How did we all find it? Well Greg, we took your advice...drove down the M4 and then followed the satnav!

It was definitely worth the drive and the weather was excellent. There is only one trail, Twrch(?) which we did twice. I thought it was better than Afan with some very fast descents (and of course one big bastard of a climb!). We are all now keen to finalise plans for a Wales weekend in May and we discussed plans to try to visit 2 centres then. So check your diaries and watch for updates on the forum...

Thanks for uploading the photos Andrew.

Pump & Bleed Kit

Hi Steve,

Cheers for suggesting the trip to Wales, I really enjoyed the trails at CwmCarn and I have not even bothered to look at my bike since we got back, and I am dreading cleaning / repairing it.

Yet more pictures...

I do have your pump and I can drop it back to you along with my bleed kit Thurday evening as I will be Farnham way. PM me if this suits you.

Cheers

Ian
