Sunday MTB ride 14th Feb **HASLEMERE**

Regular Sunday XC ride starting from Haslemere.

Route: Hindhead Common, Golden Valley, Ludshott Common, Passfield/Conford, past Forest Mere and heading back to Halsemere via the commons (Stanley, Marley etc).  The route is about 20 miles, mostly bridleways with the odd bit of singletrack and not too technical.  There a few climbs of note but nothing you can't push-up.

If I get a chance this week I'll post the route on one of the mapping sites for all to view.  It shouldn't be too muddy, but I'll post an update after I've pre-ridden the route on Friday.

The meet location for this ride is the weyhill car park (free) and I've put the start time back 15mins to accommodate anyone traveling on the train (please check they are running!).  Hopefully, it'll also encourage some of Godalming/Guildford lot to make the short trip down south!

Unfortunately, no cafe stop unless someone can suggest a venue in or near Liphook?  If not, bring all the necessary food and drink, plus the usual spares (tubes, pump etc) and some warm clothing, as it's looking to be a cold week ahead.

Any questions then post on here or drop me an email (link on the left under my profile name).

Cheers and hopefully see some of you on Sunday

Greg

route map and info

Here's a link to the route map for Sundays ride - route map.

If you click 'street' in the map view, it'll change the mapping to OSM, which shows most of the off-road tracks.  If you click the 'Summary' tab it shows the route profile and statistics.

Valentine's ride

It is a shame that the sunday should be the best day of the weekend... That means that it will be the Valentine's day for me too...

LOL.....

Perhaps I should have made this a speed-dating ride especially for VCGH singletons ;)

Greg ..

.. you're not my type, actually ;-)

Anyway, I've done my Valentines bit. I whisked Tamsin off for a night at the Lythe Hill hotel yesterday. Perhaps I should have taken my bike ...

It looks a good route, Greg. I was quite tempted, but I've only managed 12/13 mile rides since getting back to cycling after the accident. I think I could do it fitness-wise, but it may be a bit too much for the back.

We must get out soon.

Heartbroken....

LOL. Sure you don't think you can make it, Mike? We'll take it easy!! I guess there's no point in over doing it until you're confident your back can cope with it. I'm off on Monday if you fancy a ride? Jackie's got a card for tomorrow, lucky girl!!

Weather's looking a bit iffy

Weather's looking a bit iffy depending which site you look at (definately going to be cold) but I do have the intention of coming along, but that might change when I look out of the window in the morning!

looks like I waited in the wrong fecking carpark, how pissed off am I :(

even drove some of the start if the route for 20mins figuring I'd missed them somehow. Don't think I'll bother trekking down for a haslemere ride again.

sorry

Hi Andrew, sorry you missed the ride.  When you hadn't turned up, I just presumed that you'd decided that the weather wasn't to your liking.  Don't let this put you off future Haslemere rides.

Thanks to Neil, Glenn and Dave for coming along.
