Rob Marcus comes down to earth with a literal bump; half an hour behind the winner for 12th out of 19 in the 4 lap 'Super Veteran' category that took me 2 hours to complete. For once I stayed upright, even on every pass of the Corkscrew, but was just bog slow. It probably didn't help that I was still out on my recce lap when the horn sounded for my event - doh!

Hi Mark, I have given up on

Hi Mark, I have given up on 'serious' XC racing as I found it too lonely - more like a time trial in the woods. However, I still like pedalling all year and in wet and windy weather I often think off-road is the place to be!
