repair/upgrade or replace?

Hi all,

I've got a specialized hardrock (08) and noticing things starting to wear out on it after about 2 years of ownership (didn't think it'd had that much use in that time).

Hub bearings are starting to get noisy (stripped, cleaned and repacked them recently), freewheel starting to slip/miss occassionally and noticed some teeth on the smallest chainring missing/damaged. I had also been contemplating upgrading to disc brakes from v-brakes but it seem completely inhibitive cost wise as I need new wheels/hubs to take the discs and new shifters as my brake levers are integral so the costs are more than I paid for the bike!

I've tried checking parts on ebay etc and can't even figure out what replacement freewheel I need to buy for my rear hub on wiggle or chainreactioncycles. Should I just cut my losses and buy a new bike?

Any other tips/suggestions appreciated.

Andrew.
