Club website moved
The club website has moved, its now simply www.vcgh.co.uk; feels like we now have a proper website rather than a development site in progress. Its hard to believe that its almost 10 months since that catastrophic day when we lost the website. It underlines to me how much the club needs a website to function effectively.
The move is part of the continual investment in the development of the club website. More features are planned to be added to create a vibrant online community. Full details to come later, here is a taster of some of the features that are planned:
- notifications of when new postings occur or when people respond to your postings.
- mailing to subscription list.
- integrated calendar, club events, notice of public events that might interest members.
- groups - aggregation of content into different interest groups with each group having its own home page, allows you to be only involved in/notified of those parts of the club you want to be.
- sign up - ability to sign up to events, let everyone know you're going.
- friends - automatically notified if your mate is going on ride, you can join them.
- streamlined membership renewal.
- paid events - easier way for club members to setup and run paying events, examples: spinning, fitness testing, MTB skills, sessions at velodrome, xmas club events, summer BBQ.
- sponsor me - seems our members love to do crazy adventures, quite often raising money for charity in the process; this feature lets you tell club members about it so they can be inspired and support you.
