In November last year our friend and fellow club member Richard Collin's teenage son Dan tragically lost his fight against cancer.

Over the weekend of 12/13th July a group of 25 riders from VCGH - aided by an equally dedicated support crew - are undertaking a cycling challenge to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.  The Trust provided exceptional clinical support for Dan, and also a great deal of support for Richard.

The challenge is to ride the return trip from Rother Valley in Haslemere (where Richard lives and Dan grew up) to Rother Valley in Sheffield (where Dan lived and worked) in one weekend. The total distance is 715km incorporating over 8000m of ascent. Each day is broken into 4 stages, and each rider will ride at least 1 but up to 4 stages per day, coordinating with other relay teams on the road.

Even if you're not riding with us over the RVC weekend, it would be great if you'd support our efforts to raise awareness for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity and all the great work they do for families like Richard's.

You can donate through the link below, by visiting the Rother Valley Challenge's JustGiving page or through any of the individual team members' JustGiving pages (linked below). Or you can make a donation by texting VCGH78 £5 (or any other suitable amount) to 70070.
