Group Riding Rules from 17 May 2021

posted 14 May 2021, 10:18 by vcgh chair   [ updated 14 May 2021, 10:19 ]

In accordance with British Cycling, Government Guidance, and our own club rules, VCGH group rides:

  1. Can now expand to a maximum of 8. Two groups of 8 can be organised at the same time if a second leader volunteers, provided that a few minutes is maintained between groups on the road.
  2. At cafe stops, groups can sit together outside up to a maximum of 30. However, only one set of 6 is allowed to sit inside, so in groups larger than 6, everyone should remain outside.
  3. Ride leaders may prefer to stick to groups of 6, and will say so in their ride posting. Please respect this decision.
  4. Waiting lists will be in operation after max numbers are reached on ride sign-ups. Please don’t just turn up expecting to get a ride.
  5. For chain-gang rides etc., there is no longer a limit on total participants, but groups on the road must still adhere to the club’s maximum of 8, with clear space between groups.
  6. The official Merry Harriers ride will restart from Wednesday with a max total number of 30. Please use the sign-up sheet for purposes of track & trace until the restrictions are lifted completely.

These rules will be under regular review as the national situation changes.
