Once a month during the summer we're organising a one-day road trip. The first - on 1st June - is to the Isle of Wight. The plan is to travel to Portsmouth, park up in the old town near the Wightlink ferry terminal, then cycle to the ferry terminal and buy a return ticket to Fishbourne. Meet 08:00/08:15 at the Costa Coffee directly oposite the Portsmouth terminal (having bought your return ticket). NB: There's a 06:34 train from Godalming (06:45 Haslemere) that gets into Portsmouth Harbour at 07:40. The Island is like a time-warp taking you back fifty years. We've done this trip a few times but this time added the hilly bits past Ventnor. It'll be a scenic, quite testing day of riding. Lunch stop is at Gossips Cafe on the pier in Yarmouth before heading out to the Needles and finally returning to Fishbourne via the chain ferry in Cowes. The trip will take the whole day once we've got down there and back again, but it'll be worth it. As with all tours and expeditions you are expected to be able to self navigate, GPS routes are given below. Bring appropriate kit for the weather, and the usual tools. Expedition Summary
