Jurassic wkend - May

About Club Tours
Funny as it may sound, the Club does not organise tours for its members .... read more

Tour Summary
There is now a detailed day plan for the Jurassic weekend with all the downloadable routes you need plus a full description.

The plan is to base ourselves centrally in Dorset and to enjoy 3 days of dramatic scenery from Friday- Sunday allowing the Bank Holiday Monday to recover at home. The rides will be tough-ish as the terrain is very undulating with some steep climbs. It will be quite like compressing the North and South downs together. This should be ideal for those in the club looking to get some good distance rides under their belt early on in the season and build a base for forays into Europe.

We will aim for good quality accommodation for the 2 nights with some well researched local pubs and restaurants.

Hotel Details

A reservation has been made at the George Albert Hotel Evershot.  The hotel is ideally located for our purposes,  easy to drive to with the added advantage of allowing us to get straight out on some empty lanes across the downs.

Cost per room is £100.00 b&b so £50 per person if sharing. Its also close to some great country pubs for evening meals.

Logistics

Key points to note:

We will be based in one location and riding out each day, much like a club ride. We will have spares at the hotel but no support on the road as such.

Costs will be based on us sharing twin rooms at a decent hotel and are likely to be 55-65 per person, per night. We will aim to organise car shares down as much as possible. We shall sample the local hospitality in country pubs for dinner.
